SDE++ subsidy

The SDE++ subsidy for solar panels is available to entrepreneurs, institutions and non-profit organizations with a large-scale consumption connection.

What is the SDE++ subsidy?

The SDE++ is an annual subsidy that is awarded for 15 years. It is specifically intended for entrepreneurs with a large consumption connection, who make an investment that significantly reduces their CO2 emissions.

The subsidy applies to solar panel installations with a peak capacity of ≥ 15 kWp and a large-scale consumption connection to the grid. This means that your connection to the electricity grid must be greater than 3*80 A.

Do you have a smaller connection? In that case, the KIA in combination with the EIA is often more financially interesting for your situation. Click here for more information.

The SDE ++ grant is issued on the basis of:

  • Feasibility study for solar PV for your roof.

  • Expected kWh production of the installation per year.

  • Positive transport indication from your Network Administrator.

  • The basic amount with which you register for the amount of your subsidy per kWh.

  • Basic amount: with your application you bid on a kWh allowance, which you want to receive per kWh produced.

SDE++ subsidy for solar PV

As a major consumer, you apply for an SDE++ subsidy for photovoltaic solar panels (category: solar PV). You apply for the subsidy from the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO).  The RVO encourages Dutch entrepreneurs to engage in sustainable business practices.

This concerns solar panel installations with a peak capacity of ≥ 15 kWp and a large-scale consumer connection with a transmission value greater than 3*80 A.

Sunexperts installs for 2 categories of solar PV systems:

  • Solar PV ≥ 15 kWp and < 1 MWp  buildings

  • Solar PV ≥ 1 MWp buildings

What do I need to submit a grant application?

You can apply for the SDE++ subsidy yourself, but it is much easier if you let us arrange the application. We increase your chance of being awarded the subsidy. We facilitate the application procedure for entrepreneurs without any obligation.

To qualify for the SDE++ subsidy, you must submit a feasibility study and bid for a Base amount. This is a fee per kWh on which you register with your installation. This basic amount partly determines the amount of your subsidy to be paid out annually.

The 4 factors that determine the amount of your SDE++ subsidy:

* Measured kWh production (gross production per year).

* Base amount awarded.

* Distribution between Grid supply and non Grid supply (own consumption).

* The current energy price of that year (correction amount).

NB! When you apply for a subsidy, you are bidding on a basic amount. This is a kWh allowance, which you want to receive per kWh produced. The lowest bids have the highest chance of being awarded by RVO.

The experts at Sunexperts are able to estimate the best base amount for your application. Simply put, we ensure that you are not left out and that you do not apply for too little subsidy.

You must also submit a feasibility study with your application. This includes a drawing showing the intended installation on your roof.

In addition, you must provide a positive transport indication from your Network Manager. This is a preliminary approval, which you request from your Network Administrator. They determine whether it is possible to connect your installation safely to the electricity grid. This is necessary to guarantee the transport capacity of the electricity grid in the Netherlands, which is under pressure.

If you go through your subsidy application with Sunergetic, we will help you submit your application without obligation. Our expertise and experience ensures that all required documents meet the requirements set by the RVO.

  • The installation is performed by a construction installation company.

  • You are not allowed to do the installation yourself.

  • You first apply for the SDE++ subsidy before concluding a purchase agreement with the supplier of the solar panels.
