Install solar panels

From application to installation of your solar panels: we guide you through the process. This way you can be sure that everything for your solar system is properly arranged. After installation, all you have to do is sit back and enjoy the sun. But how does such an installation work? We'll tell you more.

Installing solar panels on your roof: the process

  1. Request your quote
Are you ready for the power shift to solar energy? Then ask your quote for free op for appropriate and personal advice from our Sun expert.

  2. A phone call
We will call you to discuss your wishes. We then calculate how many solar panels can fit on your roof. We take your energy consumption into account.

  3. Satisfied?
You will receive a non-binding offer. If desired, we come to your home for a no-obligation inspection and we provide advice on location. Do you agree with the offer? Then we make an agreement and schedule the installation for you.

  4. Installation
In collaboration with our local partner, we install the solar panels at your home. Safety and quality are paramount.

  5. You are a power shifter!
Once connected to the grid, you can enjoy the green energy that you generate yourself. You've made the powershift to solar energy!

You can also contact us after installation. You enjoy a 10-year warranty on your installation, 10 to 12 years on your inverter and 12 to 25 years on your panels. It is also possible to extend the warranty on your inverter. In addition, you get a 25-year warranty on the power of your system!

Permit for solar panels

You almost never have to apply for a permit to install solar panels. As long as the solar panels are placed directly on the house, follow the slope of your roof and the floor plan of the house, no permit is required. There are some exceptions where you do need a permit, namely:

- If the solar panels in the facade or the roof material need to be replaced.

- If it concerns a monumental building.

With a flat roof, no permit is required, but the solar panels may not be higher than one meter above the roof edge.

Are you curious whether your home is suitable for a solar installation? Take Contact us, then we'll see it together!

Is my roof suitable for solar panels?

Direction
Solar panels work in all directions, but best when your roof faces south. With a south-facing roof you have the best conditions for a solar installation, because your panels can then collect the sun for most of the day.

If you have a roof to the southeast or southwest, you will lose an estimated 6 percent of the annual production compared to a roof to the south.

Do solar panels also work with a roof that is oriented to the east or west? Yes, even then it remains interesting to install solar panels. You will then not achieve maximum production, but you will achieve a constant.

Gradeability
The slope of your roof does not have an extreme influence on the production of solar energy. For example, if your roof deviates 10 degrees from the optimal slope, this will result in about 2 percent less production than in the ideal case. In the case of a flat roof, we recommend that you place the solar panels on a construction that creates a slope. This way you can make the most of the sun!

Solar panels on metal roofs
When mounting solar panels on metal roofs, we usually use a mounting system, in which you attach a rail system to the roof with clamps. The solar panels are attached to this. Depending on the type of metal roof you have, the solution may look slightly different.

We would like to list a number of common sheet steel roofs:

  • Folded sheet metal roof: Smooth sheet metal sheets that are fastened together using a method called folding.

  • Trapezoidal sheet metal roof (TRP): Corrugated sheet (profiled sheet metal), a thinner type of sheet metal pressed forward in a fold-like pattern.

  • Click roof: sheet steel roof with so-called click systems, in which the screw bracket on one plate is hidden when you click on the next plate.

  • Granulated Roofing Sheet: Made of cast steel sheet with a surface layer of granulated stone to mimic concrete tiles.

Not sure what applies to your roof? Our experts, who are in daily contact with questions about solar systems, happy to help you.

Solar panels on old roofs
It's not so much about how old your roof is, but about the condition of the roof. Older roofs generally have more wear and tear and are therefore often in worse condition than roofs of newer homes. Has the roof been maintained? Then an older roof can also be suitable for solar panels.

You can also determine the condition of the roof yourself by answering the following questions:

  • When was the roof installed? - and when would a renovation be relevant?

  • Is the roof damaged?

  • Does the roof have coatings? - like moss or something like that?

  • How strong is the roof? - your roof must be able to bear the extra weight of solar panels (approx. 12-15 kg/m²).

So it is very important to consult an expert and make sure that the roof is good enough for safety reasons. Naturally, our Sun experts can help you answer those questions. So feel free to contact us without obligation.

Solar panels can last up to 40 years. It is therefore smart to consider whether you want to renovate your roof or not before installing your solar panels.

Bird protection for your solar panels

Do you want to prevent birds or vermin from nesting under your solar panels? Then see if you also want to have bird protection installed. We attach the bird protection to the edge of your system and ensure that it fits perfectly.
